Poorboys Wheel Sealant

by Kentangcf

First go with a dedicated wheel sealant… with disappointing results.

Purchased from Autogeek.net

Comes in a tub and has a soft paste texture

After cleaning the wheels with wheel brightener, half of it is taped.

Three coats is applied, each coat right after buffing off the previous coat.

Fast forward about 2 and a half weeks.

The side with Poorboys Wheel Sealant was dirtier?

I then pressure washed with water only to see if one side will clean up better than the other.

Both sides were the same to me.

I’ve given some samples to my friends to try it out. And for now, won’t conclude anything until further trial.

Thanks for looking! 🙂

So, what are the conclussions? Is PB wheel sealant an effective sealant? Or it could be better? On preasure washed pics looks like the result is more or less the same, isn't it?
Y tried FK 1000P on my wheels and I think it's a good alternative and you can also use it on clear cote with a good result.

I forgot one thing. Could I use this post on my blog? To show spanish detailers the results of this test?

    Thanks

  4. Hi Solodetail,

From my own conclusion, it doesn't make much of a difference in terms of repelling brake dust. It does make it feel slick and add a bit of gloss. So normally I would just use a normal AIO on the wheels. I have not tried FK1000P on the wheels.

Yup feel free to post this on your site, as long as you credit the reference to this site. 🙂

  5. Also, although it doesn't repel brake dust any better, it's better than no protection since it still beads water after cleaning, as seen in the last picture.
